Photo/Video Policy
On occasion photographs, audio or video tapes are taken of program participants in classes, special events or using the parks and facilities. These photographs or tapes may be used for future publications or programs at the park districts discretion and becomes it's sole property.

Inclement Weather Policy
The Park District will not cancel programs based on the weather forecast. If classes in School Districts 50, 51, 52, 308 and St. Patrick’s Grade School in Washington are cancelled the entire day due to inclement weather, Recreation Department Programs of the Washington Park District will be canceled until 3pm. Decisions of cancellation for classes held from 3-6pm will be made by 2pm and decisions of cancellation for classes held after 6pm will be made by 4pm.
The decision to cancel REACH will be made on a case by case basis, but every effort will be made to keep it open even during inclement weather.
Local radio and television stations will be contacted to broadcast our cancellations.

“Fun”ds for Recreation Scholarship Program
The Washington Park District Board of Commissioners and staff recognize that not all residents can afford the programs that would benefit them. The Park District is proud to offer a reduced fee scholarship program designed to assist both residents and non-residents. Certain restrictions do apply.

The “Fun”ds for Recreation Scholarship Program is funded, in part, by an anonymous donor.

Living Tree Memorial
The Washington Park District is proud of the Living Tree Program. Through this program you can honor or remember a person, event or organization by having a tree planted in their name. Through your monetary contribution, a tree will be planted in the park of your choice. In addition, the name of the person, event, organization and year will be proudly displayed on a plaque in the Administration Building. This program also benefits the community as a whole and the tree can be enjoyed for years to come.

Land & Water Conservation Assistance
The Washington Park District has received Federal Financial Assistance in the form of Land and Water Conservation Assistance from the U.S. Department of Interior. Under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, it prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, age or handicap.

Protect Our Parks…..
by taking pride in all of them. If you see playground equipment that needs attention or any other park problems, please call the Park District at 444-9413. Hundreds of dollars are spent each year on vandalism repairs throughout the District. Remember the parks belong to you and it only makes sense to save your dollars. Any acts of vandalism should be immediately reported to the Washington Park District or the Washington Police Department.

Shelter Reservation Policy
All park shelters may be used on a first come first served basis at any time during the hours the park is open. Persons wishing to guarantee a shelter must contact the Administration Office at 815 Lincoln St in person or by telephone at 444-9413 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday as to the availability of desired dates. A shelter reservation form will need to be completed along with payment.
Residents of Washington Park District will be assessed a fee of $18 for all guaranteed reservations with the exception of Wenger Shelter where the fee is $28. Non-Resident fees will be $28 for guaranteed reservation and $38 for Wenger Shelter. The shelter reservation form and fee to must be submitted to the park office no later than one week after reservation is made. The District will post notices the day of the reservation indicating the date/time and person/organization who has made the reservation. Only signs issued by the Washington Park District will be honored.

Age Appropriate
Ages and/or grades are listed with children’s programs as guidelines for age specific ability. The younger the child, the more this guideline must be followed to insure safety, enjoyment, and accomplishment. Please adhere to these guidelines. A birth certificate may be requested if serious doubt occurs concerning a participant’s age.

Minimum/Maximum
This designation is for the number of students needed to hold a program (Min) and the number to fill the program (Max). These guidelines are necessary to insure the best possible experience for each participant. The Park District may increase or reduce the class size if necessary.

Insurance
The Washington Park District does not carry medical or accident insurance
for program or facility participants. The cost would make program fees prohibitive. Please
review your own personal health insurance plan to be certain that you and your family have
the proper coverage.

During the course of our programs, we sometimes have unforeseen circumstances that force us to change our schedule or instructor, combine or postpone programs, or adjust facility usage. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
