Join the Washington Park District for the 1st Annual Cherry Festival 5K Run or 1 Mile
Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, May 31, 2008 beginning in front of Five Points Washington. This
new event has been added to the Washington Cherry Festival activities this year and is
also an Illinois Valley Striders Grand Prix event. Trophies will be awarded to the top
overall male and female finishers of the 5K as well as the top three male & female
finishers in each age division. Registration includes an event shirt.
(Shirt is not guaranteed if registered after May 21, 2008.)
Check in at Five Points Washington available 6-7:00 AM.

Movies in the Park

This is a Free event!
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a family movie in the park with a giant video
projection system in full color with concert stereo sound. All movies begin at dusk. Refreshments
will be sold.

Wicked - Bus Trip
Ford Center for Performing Arts, Chicago
Long before Dorothy dropped in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz. One, born with
emerald green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious
and very popular. How these two unlikely friends end up as the Wicked Witch of the West
and Glinda the Good Witch makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years. Join us
at the Ford Center for Performing Arts for a great afternoon.
We will depart WPD at 8:30 AM, arriving in Chicago with enough time for you to enjoy lunch!
We will depart the “Windy City” at approximately 5:00 PM making a 1 hour dinner
stop along the way. We will return at approximately 9:30 PM.

LINCOLN BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
Day trip to Springfield.

in the act of commemoration that we remember and discover Lincoln and his times for a new
generation. Join the year long celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s bicentennial by joining
us for this day trip to Springfield. We will visit the Lincoln Presidential Museum, Lincoln
Herndon Law Office, the Lincoln Home and the Lincoln Tomb.
